Behold! My first piece of mail at the office. I’ve just passed the one month mark, and though I’ve been working some ridiculously long hours, I am feeling good. Things are starting to make sense, names are becoming familiar, the aesthetic is starting to sink in, and I think my boss and I are starting to figure out how to work together. The other day the CEO (who is awesome, and likes to visit our office to look at new designs each day) said we sound like a married couple.
I’m being included in meetings, learning office gossip, and developing rapport with our agents in other countries. I’m learning what sorts of questions to ask, how to balance the needs of all the people I was hired to support, and trying very hard to stay on top of all our correspondence between the 4 countries we work with on a daily basis (which has really improved my ability to communicate clearly because I need to make sure my complex questions make sense to people for whom English is a second or third language.)
Of course all of this comes at a price- I really need a free afternoon to do laundry…. seriously people, it’s bad.
